Remember that guy from Dexter? Or that tall, lanky guy from that alien television series? Or just that generally strange dude with the height? That could be John Lithgow.

He is best known for his role in NBC's 3^rd Rock From The Sun. Although his portfolio includes several and varied roles, he is mostly known for his eccentric characteristic, features and voice. According to The Richest, he also voiced Lord Farquaad in Shrek.

At an early age, he already figured out that he wanted to perform. Both his parents were theatrical. His dad was the head of the McCarter Theater.

Because his family moved around a lot, he did not stay in one school for too long.

To add to his theatrical education, he enrolled in Harvard. He graduated magna cum laude in 1067. He majored in literature and history. After Harvard, he received a Fulbright Scholarship. It was an opportunity to study at the London Academy Of Music And Dramatic Art. Afterwards, he pursued his acting career and debuted on Broadway. He won a Tony for his role in The Changing Room.

To date, he has received two Tonys, five Emmys, two Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guilds and one American Comedy Award. In addition, he also received four Drama Desk Awards and was nominated for two Academy Awards and four Grammys.

To commemorate his career, he received a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was also inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame. To this day, he is known for his theatrical work and odd-ball characters in movies and animation.

Some may not know his name but his face is memorable. And so is his height. Now, at least you know that he went to Harvard.
