Jack Lemmon is one celebrity you didn't know went to Harvard College.

There are some things you did not know about the actor John Lemmon. Born in Feb. 8, 1925 and passed away on June 27, 2001 - he was born in an elevator.

Another thing you probably did not know? He was a Harvard College graduate. This Hollywood actor and musician has reportedly starred in more than sixty films. According to The Richest, his life became interesting when he was born in an elevator at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Later on, he graduated in 1947 from Harvard College.

At first, his education started at the John Ward Elementary School in Newton. Then he enrolled in The Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts. He never thought of being an actor back then. He admitted that during his acceptance speech when he received his lifetime achievement award. In high school, he attended the Philipps Academy and then enrolled in Harvard College. He graduated from Harvard in 1947.

He took up several acting performances as he was an active member of multiple drama clubs. He was also president of the Hasty Pudding Club. But after he graduated, he did not pursue acting right away. He joined the Navy to serve his country. When he was discharged, it was then he pursued acting in the entertainment industry.

Although he professed that he never wanted to be an actor when he was a child, he pursued many roles and won multiple awards when he took his place among the stars in Hollywood.

Unfortunately, he passed away. Jack Lemmon died from metastatic cancer of the bladder. He had been battling the disease for a couple of years before it took his life in 2001. It is said that his tombstone reads like something from a cinema trailer.

He became one of the most sought after leading men during his time.
