When Google's new Nexus smartphones will debut in a few months, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is not the only thing fans of the gadget can look forward to.

The 2016 Nexus smartphone lineup from the technology company will allegedly benefit from a new gesture, in which users can open the notification shade a lot faster.

The imminent HTC made models of the Nexus smartphone will have a distinctive attribute of a swipe fingerprint gesture, based on the report of Android Police.

It has been said that Google plans to launch a new gesture to open the notification shade using the fingerprint on its new Nexus phones, and this feature is slated for release later this year.

There is also an animated image that leaked online, in which it looks like an official press render. The animated image demonstrated on how a user swipe down on the fingerprint reader and the user of the 2016 Nexus smartphone will be able to have a glimpse of the alerts or the notifications with ease. And the future generations of Nexus smartphone owners will have a handy feature on the tips of their finger., according to Tech Times.

The feature of 2016 Nexus smartphone is quite simple, as seen in the following animation. But, this feature is already available on Huawei Honor gadgets, and Google apparently wants to bring the distinctive attribute to the Nexus line as well, BGR reported.

There are also reports that suggests the navigation buttons of the upcoming smartphones are poised to get a refresh.

As the 2016 Nexus smartphones of Google, dubbed as "Marlin" and "Sailfish," are slated to hit the market in October, these smartphones are said to come in a snazzy new Electric Blue color, according to Trusted Reviews.

This alleged Electric Blue color of Nexus smartphones are supposedly the 5.2-inch HTC Sailfish and the metal clad 5.5 inch Marlin will sport.
