The prestigious multinational technology company - Google, may give new and improved appearance to the home screen in some small but interesting ways for its forthcoming Nexus phones.

The early version of the software that'll ship with the next phones of Google was spotted, and the devices were supposed to change a few key things such as the Search widget, the Now pane and the app drawer, according to Android Police.

The most notable change was the app drawer that will no longer be accessed by the touch of a button. Users will instead be able to drag up from anywhere in the app dock to open up the drawer and see their other applications.

The app dock, which is a user-modifiable row of functions, is also going to look a bit more distinct, with a slight blurring effect to make apps stand out, same to what the mobile operating system iOS does, The Verge reported.

The other two tweaks to the upcoming Nexus phones are higher up on the screen. The tech giant is said to remove the Search box from the top row and a non-removable calendar widget will take over. On the side of the screen, a little tab with a "G" on it will be placed, prompting a Nexus phone user to drag over and take a glimpse on what Google's Now pane has to offer.

On the other hand, Google is gearing up to release the final Android 7.0 Nougat in the next days to Nexus device that's still eligible to receive major Android updates.

The news comes from the accurate gadget leaker that took on his Twitter account and posted on July 29 that, Android 7.0 will be unleashed next month, with the 8/5 security patch. The leaker added that Nexus 5 owners will not receive an update, according to BGR.

The "Nexus 5X" and "Nexus 6P" owners will have the privilege to receive the final Nougat build.
