As the month of September draws near, a slew of latest and reliable information regarding the imminent Nexus smartphones are surfacing online.

A recent post from a renowned leaker gave a glimpse of several specifications of the HTC "Sailfish." Strong rumors doing rounds, on the other hand, hint a release date earlier than September of both devices citing recently-surfaced discounts for the Nexus 5X and 6P.

For the past few months, rumor mills have not ceased swirling speculations over what type of features the looming smartphones would boast. There are umpteen reports centering on its processor, camera, display and other features such as an iris scanner or a finger print, Yibada reported.

Reliable tipster Evan Blass took to his Twitter handle recently to post a snapshot of the build.prop file of the HTC-made "Sailfish" smartphone. The forenamed file consists of the device's general specs along with other information about its software and hardware.

Contrary to earlier reports, the previewed screenshot indicated HTC "Sailfish" will not run under an 821 processor, but will be powered by a robust Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 instead. The aforementioned processor is an enhanced version of its precursor and is considered to be faster and more efficient in terms of performance.

The leak further suggests the device will be using the full HD screen resolution of 1,080 by 920 pixels at an impressive 5.2-inch display.

Surprisingly, rumors mills have remained mum regarding "Marlin," and have churned no speculations around the upcoming smartphone, however it is expected to boast an array of awe-inspiring features including a 5.5-inch display which is slightly bigger than "Sailfish," Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a processor similar to the latter and rear and front cameras at 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel, respectively, Techroider reported.

Athough several earlier reports indicated a September release for both "Sailfish" and "Marlin," recently surfaced reports and a few optimistic fans suggest the devices will be rolled out well before this. The claim stems from the on-going discounts of the Nexus 5X and 6P. More details are expected to surface in the few weeks that will come.

In the meantime, the search engine giant has released the final developer preview of its much-awaited Android Nougat 7.0 which is expected to debut on the upcoming Nexus smartphones.
