There has been a mixed reception towards Warner Bros. and DC's most recent movie offering, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the movie still has some things going for it.

Amidst all the backlash of casting Ben Affleck for the iconic role of Gotham's Dark Knight, Batman, Zack Snyder has been vindicated by the high praises given for Affleck's portrayal of the Batman. There is however something that fans were not expecting - "Wonder Woman" was not bad in the film.

DC's Amazon warrior princess will be given a big screen adaptation in June 2017, and with the positive reception that Wonder Woman had in BvS, fans are excited to eat up every bit of information about the movie as they can. A very important detail that concerns fans about the movie is who will pen the story and script; the aspects of which were lacking in "Batman V Superman."

While fans are waiting for an announcement from Warner Bros. and DC if whether they will have an event at San Diego Comic-Con to promote Wonder Woman or not, news has been released regarding who will be writing the upcoming adventures of the Amazonian Princess. It has been revealed that the script was co-written by Allan Heinberg and DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns. The script will be based from a story done by Snyder and Heinberg.

Based from a report by TechTimes, a brief yet official description of the film states that the movie will hit theaters across the world, with actress Gal Gadot returning as the titular character. The action adventure will be helmed by Patty Jenkins, director of the critically-acclaimed movie, Monster.

The plot delves into Wonder Woman's early life as Diana, princess of the Amazons, and trained to be an unbeatable warrior. She was raised in a secluded island paradise, cut-off from the rest of the human world. In an event where an American pilot crashes on the shores on her island, she learns of a great danger outside of her world, Diana decides to end her seclusion and fight alongside man. She then discovers her full potential and her superhuman powers.

The knowledge that DC legend Geoff Johns will be writing the script has certainly put fans at ease and their reaction to it was extremely positive.

The "Wonder Woman" movie release date was announced set for June 23, 2017, however, it got a new schedule, which is set for June 2, 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
