The wait is over for AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 6 users as they can finally get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

Announcing the news, AT&T also confirmed that Android OS update can also be received by Galaxy S6 Edge+ users. The updates are now accessible from the smartphone's settings. OTA option is also rolled out.

Previously, AT&T users have to be satisfied with the Android 5.1 Lollopop OS but now they can also catch up with the latest Marshmallow update on their phone, Tech Times reported.

AT&T Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus Marshmallow software update

AT&T announced in its official website, the availability of Samsung Galaxy mobile updates for Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus. The summary of the update claimed that Marshmallow 6.0 is available for both devices including the requirement to have a Wi-Fi connection and downloading the update via Firmware OTA (Over The Air).

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update Note 4 rolled out only for T-Mobile carrier

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 has also received Android 6.0 Marshmallow update with some features being upgraded. It reduces the storage up to 1.5 GB, Tech Times reported. Apparently the Marshmallow update Note 4 can only be received by T-Mobile. AT&T has not yet announced any Android OS update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 device albeit consumer's complaints on the lag of Android software updates.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update features

Those devices that get software updates of Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be able to enjoy anti-theft feature and bugs fixed. Google Voice was said to have troubleshoots in some Samsung Galaxy Note devices. The updated features also include smarter-working battery and manually chose permissions, Android website shared.

Now, more Galaxy smartphones will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow although many other carriers are still waiting for the Android OS update rollout.
