University of Cincinnati student-athletes have become a great example of how academics and athletics goals can be achieved in balance.

UC student-athletes set a record in the classroom after they made the Dean's List.

45 percent of the student-athletes are able to meet academic goals while also performing well in sports. Dr. Joe Luckey, director at Student-Athlete Support Services, stated that the coaches have successfully teaching and applying necessary resources for these students to achieve academic excellence. The university also reported 58 student-athletes received diplomas in last month's commencement. In average, student athletes at UC have 3.21 grade point. Among them, 291 students have at least 3.0 GPA, Cincinnati reported.

Two athletes will join NCAA Outdoor Championships 2016

Meanwhile, two student-athletes of the university will be at the championship event on June 8-11 in Oregon. Adrian Valles, a sophomore at UC for pole vault and Annette Echikunwoke for hammer throw, GoBearCats reported. For Valles, he will move from regional to national event as this is the fourth time he competes in national championship.

The record-setting performance of the Bearcats athletes in academics is an addition to many other achievements of the University of Cincinnati.

The official athletic website of the University of Cincinnati lists the 'Topcat Scholars' on spring term, highlighting 58 students. The infographics Bearcats in the Classroom made by the BearCats stated that it 'breaks the school record from fall 2015' after 45 percent of student athletes on Dean's List. On the men's team, the highest GPA marked 3.3 grade point whilst the women's team cross country and soccer 3.6 GPA. It also recorded 16 straight semesters with departmental GPA over 3.0.

Dr. Luckey praises his student-athletes for being able to meet their 'own personal goals' in class. The senior associate also marked the foundation established by the staffs that could encourage these students to achieve their academic goals.
