Ronan Boyarski, a sixth-grader at Grymes Memorial School has earned a spot among the brightest students in the world.

Boyarski was honored at a recently-held awards ceremony promoted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Boyarski, who is a sixth-grader at Grymes Memorial School earned his wings as a result of an impressive high score in the School and College Ability Test (SCAT), which is a stiff, above-grade-level test.

Along with others who received the honor, Boyarski attended an awards ceremony held at the University of Richmond on Saturday, May 14. More than 30,000 students took the above-grade-level test, however only less than 30 percent of those students actually achieved scores at the High Honors level, reported FredericksBurg.

Being associated with the CTY Talent Search, advanced students in second through eighth grades accept challenging tests that have the potential of revealing their true efficiency for learning. Seventh and eighth-graders on the other hand take the ACT or SAT, which are the same tests taken at the time of college admissions. These students may go on to take advanced variants of either the Spatial Test Battery or the School and College Ability Test.

In related news, on Wednesday, May 18 JHU celebrated its 2016 graduates - with more than 7,500 students, of which about 1,500 were undergraduates - at the university-wide commencement ceremony.

After several years at Homewood Field on the university's Homewood campus, the event was relocated to the Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore this year - a smart venue change considering that it has been a rainy month in the area, noted a post on the University's official website.

This year's graduates have attended JHU at the time of a major social revolution not only in Baltimore but also in areas beyond, JHU President Ronald J. Daniels said.

11-year-old Ronan was recently accepted to the esteemed Stanford University Online High School and lives in Locust Grove. His parents are John and Kim.
