Several AT&T subscribers using Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have reported receiving the latest security update that moves the devices' security patch level to the month of May.

Although AT&T has not confirmed the ongoing roll-out on its official website, a sneak peek at the device's software menu indicates that the size of the update for both Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is about 40 MB.  Alternatively, users can also check the incoming update by following the steps below:

1) Go to phone's "Settings"
2) Tap "About Device"
3) Tap "Software Update"

However, judging by the fact that the update has just started to roll out, it may take some time before the OTA notification show up on your device, GSM Arena, reported.

Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge both were well-received by Android users as well as those using other smartphones as well when they were launched in March. The two devices from the popular South Korean handset manufacturer were particularly a hit among smartphone users in the U.S. The devices captured more than 5.8 percent of the overall market share in the first quarter of 2016.

If a report published by British consumer research company Kantar Worldpanel is anything to go by, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are expected to outperform the sales of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in this quarter. However, just like any other tech device, the latest Samsung smartphones too are subjected to flaws and users have recently divulged quite a few shortcomings of the new devices.

While some users pointed out issues with the phone's oversensitive touch screen display that unintentionally opened and closed apps, some faced problems with the device's Bluetooth's intermittent connectivity. The handset's lack of adoptable storage, sluggish Wi-Fi connectivity, volume control issues, a camera that doesn't launch, and unresponsive buttons were some of the flaws the device users reported.

While an all-out fix may not be achievable, Samsung is leaving no stone unturned to address the issues by working in collaboration with leading network carriers to deploy patches as soon as it can.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones on T-Mobile recently received an update that among other things also activated the devices' latent FM radio feature. The update also addressed the issue users were facing with the devices' volume control, TechTimes reported.

While everyone awaits for AT&T's official statement divulging complete details of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge May security patch, some Android fans are predicting that the carrier is prepping to launch another Samsung smartphone on its network very soon.

If speculations doing rounds are anything to go by, the upcoming smartphone is the Galaxy S7 Active, which is very closely similar to S7 Edge as far as specs are concerned, but just sturdier. The Galaxy S7 Active boasts a robust polycarbonate construction, rubberized edges and surprisingly physical buttons that replaces the capacitive soft-keys. The forthcoming device will reportedly be dustproof and waterproof.

Since there is no confirmation on this from Samsung or AT&T yet, we suggest you take these speculations with a grain of salt.
