Megan Goettl has signed up to become one of University of Arizona's Wildcats. Goettl previously competed for the Mingus Union High School track and field team where she brought the school several awards. She is entering college and has decided to continue competing for the university.

Megan Goettl signed her Letter of Intent to become one of University of Arizona's Wildcats track and filed member. She was accompanied by her mother, her coach, athletic director and Mingus Union's principal, according to Verde News. Goettl said that is has always been her dream to compete in college as this is what her mother has done during her time.

The track and field athlete shares that she knew University of Arizona would be the place after she visited the campus. Additionally, the institution is not that far from where she lives. Megan Goettl plans to take a business major when she enters university.


The upcoming college freshman adds that she worked hard in track and field competitions. Her signing of the letter of intent meant that she can finally focus on training and running now that she doesn't have to choose which school she should attend for college. Megan Goettl plans to become a Division 1 athlete in fall this year. Her mother, Tiffany, is proud of seeing her daughter accomplishing her goals. She will also be coaching her daughter as she finishes studying for high school.

According to the Verde Independent, Megan Goettl has received three gold medals and four silver awards in the last three years of competing at the state track and field chmapionships. Her win last month earned her the third-fastest time among Division III runners. She is the fourth best in the whole division.
