Marion Cotillard, 37-year-old, Academy award-winning French actress has been named as Harvard's Hasty Pudding  Woman of the Year.

Cotillard, received the prestigious Golden Pudding Pot during a ceremony organised by Harvard.

She now  joins  the list of past elite recipients - Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Taylor, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Scarlet Johnson, among few others.

"We chose Marion as our Woman of the Year because she's an international star who's wowed both critics and mainstream audiences alike," Tyler Faux, press and publicity manager for Hasty Pudding said.

The award is conferred on performers who have made a lasting and impressive contribution to the entertainment industry.

The ceremony began with Cotillard leading a parade, which was taken through the streets of Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The parade honored the internationally renowned actress with brass bands, a group of glamorous drag queens, cheerleaders and festive soundtracks.

A celebratory roast for the actress followed, which was hosted by the president of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, Renée Rober  and the vice president of the cast, Ben Moss .

Cotillard won the Oscar for best actress in 2007 for her portrayal of famed French singer Edith Piaf in 'La Vie En Rose.'

Other prestigious recognitions include Golden Globe and SAG Awards nominations for her role in 'Rust and Bone.'

Cotillard also starred in some of Hollywood's big budget movies - 'The Dark Knight Rises', 'Inception', Midnight in Paris, and 'Contagion'.

The Harvard Hasty Pudding Man of the Year will be announced on Feb.8.
