Flappy Bird is apparently coming back to app stores, as creator Dong Nguyen confirmed so much in a response to a Twitter post directed at him.

Nguyen told Rolling Stone in a recent in-depth interview he was considering bringing the game back, but Tuesday's tweet is the first time he has confirmed it. He had taken the game down after it erupted in popularity, with many calling it addictive.

When asked by a user on Twitter if he was bringing Flappy Bird back, he said "Yes, but not soon."

Nguyen uploaded the game on May 24, but it did not catch on until February. Out of nowhere Flappy Bird was a raging success, but users also lamented its difficult simplicity. All the user had to do was tap the screen to keep the bird flapping while avoiding an obstacle course of pipes.

All Nguyen wanted was a game like his favorite Nintendo title, simple and difficult. He achieved that and was even making $50,000 per day in advertising revenue. He said the pressure of a national spotlight and so many users crying out about the game's difficulty was enough to make him remove it.

"Flappy Bird has unexpected effects," Nguyen told USA Today in an interview after removing the game from app stores. "It causes addiction (in) people. I think it is an unexpected problem... and I have to remove it."

Nguyen has several games uploaded to his website, DotGears.com, and also said in a Twitter interaction that another one will soon be released.

Both Nguyen and Nintendo denied there was any pending lawsuit against the Flappy Bird creator for creating a backdrop that looked very reminiscent of Super Mario.

Bringing back Flappy Bird is a sign that Nguyen is ready to face the spotlight. He currently lives at home with his parents, who he said do not know anything about video games, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
