The first year of college can bring a lot of excitement. You may look forward to your first time living away from home and working towards your goals. If you plan to live in a dorm, you may spend months planning the perfect room decor. Before you start shopping think about the entire college experience. You may use several tech items throughout the day. You need items for both your dorm room and to carry around campus.

The Right Computer

While you may feel tempted to bring your powerful desktop to campus, most college students work best with a laptop. Many professors allow laptops in the classroom for taking notes. You may also need to bring your laptop to the library and to study groups. College dorms also don't have a lot of space for extra items. You can easily store a laptop when you need to use your desk for books. With Lenovo coupon codes, you can also save money on your new computer.

Noise Cancelling Headphones

Even if you have a big family, you may need a break from the noise of a college dorm. Hundreds of students living in one building can become louder than you may imagine. You may also have trouble relaxing or studying with all the noise. Noise-canceling headphones can help you focus on your studies or enjoy a movie. You can simply put on your headphones and listen to some relaxing music, as well.

Variety of Chargers

You may have many days that you spend running around campus without going back to your dorm room to recharge devices. Portable chargers can save the day if you don't have time to charge devices between classes. You cannot depend on classroom or library outlets when your phone battery starts dying. Purchase a variety of chargers before you leave for college. If you plan to take your car with you, purchase adapters for all your devices. You can even charge your laptop from the car, if necessary.

E-Reader or Tablet

After the first week or two of classes, you may begin to realize you need to lighten your backpack. An e-reader or tablet can store many of your books. You may need to leave many of your favorite books at home when moving to your college dorm. Most dorms also have minimal space. An e-reader enables you to purchase new books, as well. If you need apps to complete schoolwork or connect with classmates, a tablet may work best for you. You can both read and listen to books with your tablet.

Streaming Stick

Your dorm may have rooms with televisions where people gather for fun. If you want to watch your favorite shoes at any time, however, you need access to a television of your own. A streaming stick allows you to watch movies and shows from your favorite subscription  site, such as Netflix. You can enjoy movie night in your own dorm room.

When you shop for your first year of college, make sure you have the right tech accessories to get through each day. Your days may become busier than you expect. Portable items make it easier to stay active on campus each day. Make sure you have portable chargers and a laptop that fits in your backpack. Get ready to excel in your classes and enjoy dorm life!
