Conservative groups have filed a lawsuit against the Boyertown Area School District after their son complained of having his privacy violated when a transgender student shared locker rooms with him. The parents, who are not identified, supported their son's complaint after him sharing locker room with a transgender and after he was told by a school faculty member to "tolerate" the situation.

The Independent Law Center and the Alliance Defending Freedom, both faith-based organizations have filed a case at the Federal court in East district of Pennsylvania. According to Philly.com, They are complaining about the existing policy of the school allowing transgender students to choose which locker room they can use, depending on the sex they associate themselves with.

The offended student accuses of the school of violation of bodily privacy, which is a violation of state privacy law. The school has yet to comment on the issue, though they have told reporters as covered by the Courier Tribune, that they haven't officially received the complaint. Tension between conservative sentiments and liberal views on homosexuality is a hot topic in the country today, especially with the rise LGBT activism and the political rhetoric that inundate the public.

The strain in school policy to create a balance in treatment between sexes have been a major flashpoint in Pennsylvania. Prior to this issue, a case filed by transgender students filed a lawsuit against a school bathroom policy to allow them free choice on what bathroom they would use according to the sex they regard themselves.

Executive director of GLSEN (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network), Eliza Byard pointed out the non-discrimination law to find a remedy to this predicament. It states that given the sensitive issue of homosexuality, it recommends ample separate accommodation to resolve insecurities and misunderstanding. She also stated that the issue can be dealt with simple understand and should have not boiled down to litigious issue.
