Google Nexus 7 Tablet could be Getting A Different, Much Better OS This Year

By

It wasn't until Fuchsia brought into the conversation, that tech crowds realized that Google is planning another OS project.

Nexus 7 Tablet: Android or Andromeda?

The hype was built up around Andromeda OS, that's supposed to merge Chrome and Android OS and come pre-installed in Google's upcoming Nexus 7 tablet. Since then, there have been a lot of confusions and questions whether the tablet will run Android or Andromeda.

Fuchsia OS 'secret' revealed

However, it looks like Daniel Matte has figured something out. He said, "Android and Chrome OS are both being merged into Fuchsia." According to the tech analyst, Andromeda will not replace Android but rather, expanding the OS ability.

Fuchsia remains cryptic but speculations are now shifting to this new operating system and it has led to an assumption (or conclusion) that Andromeda might be the first version of Fuchsia OS, Android Authority explained.

In his blog, Matte went on to say that Andromeda will enable laptops to have backward compatibility with Android. It may look similar to Chrome OS apparently. The new operating system will likely to support VR contents, according to BGR.

That being the case, the Nexus 7 tablet that's rumored to run Andromeda will most likely to be VR compatible and getting Android and Chrome OS features.

Fuchsia reportedly supports numerous processors including Intel X86 and ARM for wide range of gadget dimensions. This would mean a great possibility of having a Snapdragon 835 chipset in a device running on Fuchsia. It seems to be in line with Nexus 7's rumored specs that include a Snapdragon processor, a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt storage

Google is said to launch a new laptop with the new OS in Q3 2017. Will this be a Nexus 7 device or a Pixel tablet instead? Only time will tell.
