'iBoy' Sci-Fi Film To Launch At Netflix On Jan. 27; Trailer gathered 1 Million Views Overnight

By

Netflix will bring to fans this Jan. 27 its latest sci-fi original film that shows the powers and limits of today's technology. The film is based on the book of the same title by Kevin Brooks and will star Bill Milner of "X-Men: First Class" and "Game of Thrones" star Maise Williams.

Just recently, Netflix has released a trailer for the film, 'iBoy' that has remarkably gathered a resounding reception of 1 million views from fans overnight at YouTube. The film's director Adam Randall tweeted about the good news and obviously prided the massive reception the film got from fans.

The film revolves around "iBoy" Tom, played by Bill Milner, an average teenager whose world is turned on its head when a violent encounter with local thugs leaves fragments of his shattered smartphone embedded in his brain. He wakes from a coma to discover that returning to normal teenage life is impossible because he has developed a strange set of superpowers, Flickering Myth reported.

Tom quickly realizes something is wrong when he begins to develop super-tech-powers. He eventually learns to master his powers and begins a vigilante crusade, seeking revenge on the gang that assaulted him and his best friend Lucy, played by Massie Williams, Konbini has learned. According to reports, "iBoy" could be a different superhero movie genre specifically that it dives into the possibilities of the power and limitations of today's technology.

Fans, on the other hand, are also excited to see Williams dressed up in modern-day clothing and speaking with a modern day accent. It is worth noting that Williams has been in the "Game of Thrones" since 2011 wearing 15th century wardrobes, and it sure is a refreshing treat for fans to see her in today's clothing.
