A leaked information in Weibo reveals new Xiaomi Mi S's attempt to bring some latest technology to compact smartphone range including Snapdragon 821SoC and 4K Display.

The news broke out like wild fire, as the Chinese mobile developer enters the under-5-inch range recently abandoned by Sony. This range is a mid-range arena where no other competitors have shown interest to venture. If proven true, Xiaomi Mi S will cater to users who prefer smaller smartphone size.

Information about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi S has been determined through images of some reported "promotional materials". No reports have been made to confirm the said information, GSM Arena reported.

But looking back at the images, details of the Xiaomi Mi S tells a lot of solid specs and update to the device. Most prominent is Xiaomi's attempt to fit Snapdragon 821SoC and 4K Display in a 4.6-Inch Smartphone.

The Snapdragon 821SoC processor will be paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. While the 4K Display comes with a Full HD 1080p display including a 600-nit brightness. There will be 2.5D curved glass on top of the unit.

The camera department houses a 12MP rear camera integrated with a Sony IMX378 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, face detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. The front camera captures with 4MP with a f/2.0 aperture. The 4K video capture goes with 1080p video recording.

The battery will have a 2,600 mAh capacity that fits the unit's size. It is supported by Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 via the USB Type-C port. Xiaomi Mi S's battery will fit in the 128.3 x 64.2 x 8.2 mm dimension and will weigh 138 grams, Android Pure added.

It also goes with the current trend of putting a fingerprint scanner which will be placed at the home button at the front phase.

Xiaomi Mi S could be the second Xiamoi phone to follow Mi 4i in the compact range. This means Xiaomi has the idea on how things work in that area.
