‘Attack on Titan’ Season 2 Out on April 2017; Theories Reveal Who ‘Beast’ Titan Really is

By

After a colossal cliff-hanger season ender, fans have been anticipating an announcement on when the next season of "Attack on Titans" would be. Finally, the 21st manga volume with its special wraparound jacket has revealed that "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will have its grand release on April 2017. Meanwhile, speculations are circulating online on who the mysterious titan at the end of the season really is.

"Attack on Titan" Season 2 Release Date

"Attack on Titan" Season 2 was expected by fans since 2014, Inverse reported. However, even after two years, there is still no sign of a second season for the big hit anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama's manga. Fans expected a release of the series on Christmas 2016, but still there is no sequel to "Attack on Titan."

Finally, last Friday, it was announced that "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will be released April next year. The long delay is due to the fact that the creators of the anime series are working on expanding the storyline. This is crucial as "Attack on Titan" became a phenomenal hit all over the world.

It even spawned a lot of manga spinoffs, a video game, an OVA, and two live action movie adaptation. Masashi Koizuka, who directed one of the episodes in Season 1, will direct the second season. Meanwhile, Season 1 director Tetsuro Araki will be the chief director, IGN reported.

'Beast' Titan is 'Titan Shifters'

Meanwhile, one of the biggest theories that have been circulating online is on what the weird titan that appeared in the end of season one really is. One fan from Reddit claimed that the "Beast" titans are actually the "titan shifters." The First King exploited these titans' hardening ability to build the Herculean wall.

Whatever these "Beast" titans are, fans can only hope that this mystery would be resolved in "Attack on Titans" Season 2.
