‘Daredevil’ Season 3 Plot: Here’s How The ‘Shadowland’ Could Work To Bring Bullseye, Luke Cage and Iron Fist Into The Show

By

Development for "Daredevil" Season 3 is underway and there's already a lot of excitement for Charlie Cox's return as Matthew Murdock. The second season of the Marvel superhero introduced the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung), showing two different story arcs.

Things have been quiet for the "Daredevil" Season 3 pre-production, which is probably because Netflix is busy working on "The Defenders" that brings together Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist as an Avengers-esque quartet. However, speculation is rife that the third season of "Daredevil" will bring out a notorious villain.

"It's no secret," Cox said about the villain, Den of Geek reported. "I've said it before and I get in trouble every time I say it, I'd like to see Bullseye make an appearance at some point. I think it's a really interesting opportunity." He also said that he couldn't imagine playing Daredevil without facing Bullseye at some point.

If the events in "Daredevil" Season 2 is to be continued, which means more of The Hand in the third season, it's likely the show would follow the "Shadowland" arc from the comics.

In "Shadowland," Matt becomes the leader of The Hand after he gets possessed by The Beast. In the past two seasons of the show, Matt has always struggled between serving the ends of justice without too much violence or killing. Being under the control of The Hand really puts Matt's principles to the test.

Bullseye makes an appearance in "Shadowland," where he is surprised to see Daredevil's new ruthlessness. He is later killed by Daredevil using his sai, the same way Bullseye killed Elektra in the comics. In the show, Elektra didn't die by Bullseye's hand.

"Shadowland" would also bring Luke Cage and Iron Fist into Daredevil's world as both heroes made sizeable appearances in the comics.

According to Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams, "Daredevil" Season 3 will premiere in Netflix sometime in 2017 and 2018. Next in line on Marvel's Netflix schedule is "Iron Fist" and then "The Defenders" in 2017. After that, Marvel will work on "Jessica Jones" Season 2 and "Daredevil" Season 3.
