SEGA representative John Hardin wrote on the official blog of PlayStation that "Yakuza Kiwami" will be coming to the West in 2017. It was first announced during the PlayStation Experience 2016 presentation over the weekend.

"Yakuza Kiwami" will be a remake of the original "Yakuza" video game, which was launched on the PlayStation 2 console system in 2005. It will have an extreme overhaul that will include a lot of new content for players to enjoy.

A new feature called the Majima Everywhere system will be added to "Yakuza Kiwami." He will be the rival of Kiryu who will constantly challenge him to combat when the hero least expects it. He will also wear silly costumes to distract the players, so it is advised that they should be prepared.

"Yakuza Kiwami" will be rebuilt from the ground up with better HD graphic assets and exclusive Japanese voice audio re-recorded by the series cast.
