‘Dishonored 2’ News & Update: ‘Dishonored 2’ On PlayStation 4 Pro Doesn't Offer Any Advantage To 1080p TV Users [VIDEO]

By

While playing the action-adventure stealth video game "Dishonored 2" on PS4 Pro, the video game offers no performance benefits for gamers playing on an HD screen over the standard PlayStation 4.

Unfortunately, the PS4 Pro isn't as good as tech fans may hope. On a 4K TV, a PS4 Pro owner will get native 1440p, but this version doesn't provide any advantage for those gamers playing on regular 1080p monitors. The weirdest thing is that the only way to acquire a 1440 downsampled to 1080p is to start the video game in 4K and shift to 1080p while the game still running, GamePur reported.

Meanwhile, although the stealth video game has been given positive reviews, the video game has suffered criticism due to the poor performance of the PC version. A number of individuals with extremely high-end systems have complained the struggles to maintain frame rates of "Dishonored 2," as well as the general lack of optimization.

Digital Foundry, who specializes in game technology and hardware reviews, initiated an in-depth analysis of the stealth video game's performance. When the video game runs on PC with an overclocked Core i7 4790K that is hooked up to a Titan X Pascal, the video game struggled to maintain 60fps at 1080p. With that, a fundamental re-evaluation of "Dishonored 2's" PC version is required beyond the brace of patches.

It seems that the performance of the stealth video game quirks extend as far as the PS4 Pro. The test of the video game on Sony's new console found that matching the hardware with a 1080p TV turned out to no palpable performance benefits, Digital Spy has learned.

In spite of that, the performance of the video game on PS4 and Xbox received the thumbs up. Video game developer Arkane is looking to rectify the situation of the game on PC that have received the roughest deal.
