By

"Pokémon Go" Ditto caught in the U.S. and in other countries has now been confirmed, indicating that the elusive, often disguised, Pokémon can be captured. "Pokémon Go" trainers can now begin hunting the newest and only addition creature in the game since July so read on to find out how. Moreover, Niantic Labs wants to say "thank you" to its loyal supporters by offering double XP and stardust next week.

Ditto is an amorphous blobby creature, which is a non-legendary Pokémon from the original 151. It has the ability to morph into another Pokémon, which makes it hard to catch. Niantic Labs is taking advantage of the holidays to keep trainers walking around to hunt the elusive creature.

"Pokémon Go" players had already speculated that Ditto might soon make an appearance when early this month, the function of "transform" was added. "Transform" is the trademark move of Ditto as reported in Polygon.

The ability of Ditto to transform into any other Pokémon makes it harder and even more fun to catch him. "Pokémon Go" Ditto caught in the US, Australia and Sweden means that it is possible although a bit harder as compared to regular Pokémons

Since the creature is often in disguise, it will not appear in the world map or the overview screen of the "Pokémon Go" game. The trick is to catch all creatures encountered even including the low-level Pokémons like Zubat, Rattatas and Pidgeys, creatures normally ignored according to The Verge.

Once the "Pokémon Go" Ditto is caught, that is the only time the creature will reveal its true nature. Then you may capitalize on its mimic abilities when you take it to the "Pokémon Go" battle gym.

Ditto can transform into the creature it fights, making the battle even. If the opponent is another Ditto, there will be no morphing and players will just have to resort to continuous tapping until one concedes.

Meanwhile, Niantic Labs wants to thank its fans and supporters by giving them double XP and stardust next week. "Pokémon Go" Ditto caught during the holidays may be a good start to a festive celebration.
