A number of Sony Xperia X Performance owners have been receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat Beta. Sony has officially fired up the release following an email sent to consumers enrolled in the tech giant's latest beta program.

The email informed users about the latest Android Nougat Build for the Xperia X Performance, and confirmed the roll out within 48 hours. Sony's Android 7.0 Nougat beta program will only be up for grabs for the single-SIM variation of the Xperia X Performance, wherein the model number is F8131. Even so, the first Nougat firmware is build 39.2.A.0.248, and it comes along with Google's most recent Oct. 1 security patches, according to GSM Arena.

Most of the features that come with Android 7.0 Nougat are now carried over to the handset, such as the split-screen multitasking, as well as the slight changes to the notification panel. In addition, some Sony-specifics were changed too, which include the manual shutter speed and ISO control of the smartphone's 23 megapixel rear shooter.

On the other hand, Samsung has previously made it known that they will adapt the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system in their latest models, mainly the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. Interestingly, the announcement of the South Korean tech company also indicated that it could transpire in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Apparently, a notification to update the operating system will appear on the devices of tech enthusiasts who already have the models. T-Mobile's list of devices recently confirmed the Samsung models that will receive the new update, the list includes the Note 7, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, as well as the Galaxy S7 Edge.

That being the case, it has been speculated that the updates will be available as soon as Google officially fires up the Android 7.1 Nougat, Neuro Gadget reported.
