Sony Xperia X Compact Release Date, Specs & Price Revealed; When Is The Xperia XZ Coming To India?

Sony took the wraps off two new Xperia smartphones, the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact at IFA 2016 in Berlin. While the Sony Xperia XZ is slated to hit the store shelves next month, the the Sony Xperia X Compact has gone on sale in select markets.

The Sony Xperia X Compact Price & Availability

Sony's X Compact smartphone is up for grabs for EUR 449 (about $509) for the unlocked version.

The smartphone in now available to buy in Luxembourg, Netherlands and Belgium, and according to reports on Gadgets 360, the device has also gone on sale in the UK where consumers can get their hands on the X Compact for £359.99 (about $479) without contract.

Unfortunately, Sony has remained tight lipped about the availability details of both Xperia X Compact and XZ for other markets including India. However, if the India listing is anything to go by, Sony will launch the Xperia XZ prior to the X Compact. The Xperia X Compact European market availability was first made public by AndroidPlanet.

The Sony Xperia X Compact Specs & Features

The Sony Xperia X Compact sports a 4.6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

In terms of camera, the Xperia X Compact has a 23MP primary camera equipped with the company's IMX300 sensor, and a 5MP front shooter for the selfie addicts.

The smartphone comes with USB Type-C port and supports Quick Charge 2.0. Also, the Sony Xperia XZ will be up for grabs in single as well as Dual-SIM variants.

Among the two aforementioned smartphones, the Sony Xperia XZ is a flagship smartphone and is said to be class of the Sony Xperia X Performance. At IFA, Sony publicized the Xperia XZ as a handset that it built of a new "trademarked material" by the company.

The new Xperia smartphones comes with Sony's Triple image sensing technology. Moreover, the Xperia XZ is also IP65/ IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
