Maingear R1 Razer edition made its debut appearance during the IFA 2016 where it was showcased among other competitors. Dubbed as everyone's dream when it comes to liquid-cooled desktop PC, reviews revealed that its performance is as flashy as it appearance. Does its price at par with its specs or is this just another empty aesthetics?

The competition between Maingear and Razer has been put off for a while during the launching of Maingear R1 Razer edition in UFA 2016. The collaboration of the gaming PC makers and accessory specialist resulted to a tower rig gaming desktop built with extraordinary specs.

Maingear R1 Razer Specs

A review on Maingear R1 Razer was made by TechSpot and it revealed much about the specs of the high-end liquid-cooled desktop PC for gaming. Accordingly, the R1 Razer edition was built with an ASUS H110M-A motherboard, 8GB Hyper X Fury DDR4 RAM (2x4GB), Intel's Core i5 6500 CPU alongside a retail cooler, NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU, 1 Terabyte (TB) Seagate Hard Drive installed with Windows 10 Home, 500W EVGA PSU and NZXT H440 Chasis with a touch of Razer's architecture.

Engadget reported that Maingear R1 Razer edition will have a base price of $999 packed with the basic specs given above. However, if money is not an issue, the gaming desktop PC specs can be modified. For example, outfitting the liquid cooling and upgrading the processor to 10-core i7 with dual GTX video cards equipped with 128 GB of RAM as well as additional storage such as 1.2 TB PCI Express solid-state drive.

Release Date

Maingear R1 Razer edition is now available for orders. According to TechSpot, number of shipment days may vary due to the available options. But the most notable turn-around time is less than 30 days.

Based on the reactions of the netizens, Maingear R1 Razer edition is too pricey too have those mentioned specs in it. In fact, one netizens said that he can build another desktop PC for gaming half of the price but can double the performance of R1 Razer.
