The 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro is just around the corner, and certain olympic events interest some more than others. Archery is one such event that brings in a lot of interest, enough for pundits and journalists to weigh-in their bets. Archery will be on August 5th along with the ranking round.

The men's team medals will be locked in on August 6, while the women's team medals will be awarded on August 7 the following day. The individual eliminations will start on August 8 thru 10. The men's finals will be held on August 12, while women's final takes place much earlier on August 11.

World Archery listed a panel of experts comprised of journalists, pundits and former olympians. Here are their predictions for the 2016 Rio Olympics Archery.

Blogger and journalist, John Stanley chooses Ku Bonchan of Korea for mens, Tan Ya-Ting from Chinese Taipei for womens. He chose USA for men's team and Korea for womens. Stanley states that Chinese Taipei is among the few squads that can compete with the Koreans, also mentioning that Tan Ya-Ting is a star.

Mexican 3-time Olympian Juan-Rene Serrano pick Kim Woojin from Korea an Aida Roman from Mexico. He pick Korea as her men's team choice, as well as for women's team. In 2008, Serrano finished fourth in Beijing and states that Woojin's performance in the 2015 World Championship was one of the best of the season. He also stated that Roman who won the silver in 2012 London will go the distance due to her excellent preparation of Rio.

Italy's 6-time Olympian Natalia Valeeva choices are Brady Ellison from the USA for men, and India's Deepika Kumari for womens. Valeeva predicts USA will do well for the men's team and Korea for the women's team. She also gave special mention of Netherlands' Sjef van den Berg adding that he's young and very tenacious.

Same as Serrano, Commentator George Tekmitchov also favors Korea's Kim Woojin for the mens, while he also picks Choi Misun from Korea for womens. The trend also hold true for the teams as Tekmitchov also favors the Korean team for men's and women's to do great. Although the Korean bets are obvious, Tekmitchov predicts that world records will be broken by USA's Brady Ellison.
