Superman in The CW's "Supergirl?" Back in 2001, The WB Television Network, brought to life a legendary hero in the smallscreen- well almost.

The world was re-introduced to Clark Kent AKA Superman, in the TV series "Smallville." The show delved into the life of a young Clark Kent before he donned the iconic blue tights. Fans have been anticipating him to turn into Superman during the run of the show, and when it was tranferred to The CW Network, fan anticipation grew even higher. 10 seasons in, they were finally given a glimpse of Clark as Superman, but left fans unsatisfied with how the series has ended.

Now in 2016, we finally get to see more superheroes in the small screen, and done right. It is only fair that the biggest hero of them all make an appearance. Supergirl is now a part of The CW Arrow-verse, and the possibilities for appearances and crossovers seem to look endless. In a report by Cinema Blend a month ago, Teen Wolf actor, Tyler Hoechlin was cast to play Superman in The CW's Supergirl. Hoechlin made an appearance on the Supergirl panel at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, and his excitement of playing Kara's famous cousin was all too apparent.

The Superman costume that Hoechlin will be wearing in his Supergirl appearances was finally revealed, according to EOnline,  The CW has released the first image of the new Superman, who will make an appearance in Season 2. The image features Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman standing side by side, with the sky in the background. The Superman costume seems to take some elements from the movie costume that actor Henry Cavill had worn in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, albeit with much brighter colors, and a classic and vivid Superman chest symbol.

Now that Superman is included in the DC TV-verse continuity, is there a possibility that fans may also see some acknowledgement that The Batman exist? There have also been rumors that either Batgirl or Batwoman could be a part of season 2, but there are still no confirmation on this.

Supergirl will return to the small screen on The CW on October 10, 2017.
