Bandai Namco's 'Tekken 7' Could Be A Cross-Platform Play

By

Bandai Namco's "Tekken 7" might be breaking the record of exclusivity of gaming consoles as it is said that there will be a cross-play between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One through this game.

The developer team of "Tekken 7" is looking forward into a cross-platform play implementation. The team already has an idea on how to do it. However there are few issues that are getting in the way and it needs to be solved. The developer team are considering the benefits of having a large player base, said Tekken 7 creator Katsuhiro Harada at E3 2016, WCCF Tech reported.

One of the major troubles is about the policies and the willingness of both console makers to allow cross-platform play. Microsoft was okay about the cross-play prospect since they have professed that the Xbox One is ready for such an event. Reportedly, Microsoft even invited other interested networks to connect to Xbox Live, PlayStation Network was one of the networks given such invitation. While Sony, on the other hand, have kept silent about it. It might still be a while before they would say a word about the proposal, WinBeta reported.

Another problem, surprisingly, involves a non-console platform. PC platform presents an easier environment for creating cross-play because of its open nature. However, this openness presents loopholes that allows cheaters to cheat and ruin the game for everyone. In general. This problem is making trouble to all online games for PC. But the gaming community will be the one to decide whether this cross-play will happen or not.

Before the official announcement, Bandai Namco confirmed the release of Tekken 7 on PC and Xbox One. Online rumors also say that PlayStation 4 exclusivity was already available. But the good thing is, Tekken 7 will be available in PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation4.

This new game will be based on the release of "Fated Retribution" Which includes, new mechanics and new characters including the guest character from "Street Fighter" series, Akuma.
