The Big 12 may be hard to keep out of the College Football Playoff (CFP) this season, as three of its teams are currently undefeated and one has just one loss.

Both unbeaten and looking to claim a Top Four spot in the CFP, the TCU Horned Frogs (8) and Oklahoma State Cowboys (14) are playing in what promises to be an explosive offensive shootout.

While TCU head football coach Gary Patterson's quarterback, Tevone Boykin, is playing up to his Heisman hype, it is his defense that will the difference. TCU's schedule is getting tough at the right time and winning out will undoubtedly ensure a CFP spot.

The same can be said for Oklahoma State and the Big 12's other unbeaten team, Baylor.

"We're just playing faster, not thinking as much," Patterson said in his weekly press conference. "Now that we've got guys back every week, we've played a little bit better, and I expect them to keep doing that as we go along, even though the competition is going to get tough.

"That's what you have to do if you want to try to win a championship."
