MediaU is an online educational forum for creatives hoping to enter the industry or grow their skills. Most recently, the company has announced a partnership with Houston Community College (HCC). 

MediaU will provide HCC seniors with advanced content that's comprehensible and highly effective. 

The company and its CEO, Adam Leipzig, are excited to partner with Houston Community College as they highly value connections with young minds. Leipzig expressed his enthusiasm saying, "Houston Community College has a fantastic media arts department, and we're honored to serve its talented filmmaking students and alumni. As MediaU continues to grow, we look forward to more relationships with colleges and universities, where we can provide career-focused enhanced learning opportunities." 

Leipzig founded MediaU after discovering a gap in filmmaking education. After seven years as president of National Geographic Films, Leipzig set out to write a new university textbook for Macmillan, the first update in 20 years. This disparity inspired him to find his own educational program. 

Harnessing his experience working for Walt Disney Studios and National Geographic, Leipzig focuses on experiential learning, "It's not about lectures, it's about doing things - which is our approach at MediaU." 

Now, the company provides individuals, companies, and educational institutions with the tools they need to level up. 

Programs available to universities like Houston Community College include "Marketing & Distribution Roadmap for Independent Filmmakers - Fundamentals," where students learn how to market their own films by creating game plans to reach engaged audiences. 

The company says its primary goal is to "provide real-world expertise and industry access so our students are able to follow their aspirations and explore possibilities they may not have been aware of."

Leipzig also hopes MediaU will "bring positive, inclusive change to the industry." Which can be done through collaborations with educational institutions like HCC.

The students will have access to virtual and in-person networking events and membership in the MediaU community. 

With MediaU, students can gain access to highly experienced industry professionals, also known as the advisors of MediaU, join web chat rooms for learning, coaching, and sign up for new courses that are updated constantly. 

The team of MediaU professionals come from highly regarded companies, including Netflix, Warner Brothers, the CW, Paramount, Disney, and more, ensuring members receive tried and true tips. 

Houston Community College is delighted to see what MediaU can offer its students. "My students appreciated the opportunity to augment their education with real-world examples and engaging speakers," said Kate Phillips, Professor of Filmmaking and the faculty supervisor of student internships.

Both Houston Community College and MediaU are ready to join together and help young students learn how to succeed in the entertainment industry.
