College, a wonderful world filled with parties and deadlines.

Going to university is an exciting accomplishment in your life, but it can also be very stressful if you don't know what you should do or arrange to make the first year more manageable.

Now:

The first year of college is a year where you learn all the adulthood lessons. You start living by yourself away from home, so you have to learn how to do laundry, how to cook, and how to be responsible.

Here's why:

This year involves a lot of decision making, and those choices are going to impact your future. Taking the responsibility for every aspect of your life will ensure your success in college.

So, let's see some essentials you should have before and during your first year.

Car

Owning a car is essential, it will help you move around without taking too much time, and it will give you the freedom to go wherever you want. But of course, everything comes with responsibility; otherwise, you could get into a life-threatening accident.

Besides having a car, you should have insurance. You could search for insurance by yourself or hire a broker company.

It's true:

BrokerLink states that by letting a broker choose for you, you will have more time for yourself. Whether it be spending time with family, traveling the world, watching Netflix, or the most important thing - studying. You don't have to spend your time looking for insurance if someone can do it for you.

Some students that live on the campus may think that having a car isn't a necessity, but what if you want to visit your family? You will need a car!

Books

With the era of technology, everything is online now, even books!

Ebooks are useful because you have them all in one place, they're easy to access, and they don't weigh as much as a physical book. But, spending so much time on the computer can damage your sight.

Physical books can seem antique, but there's nothing more lovely than the smell of a new book, and the feeling you get when passing the pages. This is something that you won't get when reading an ebook.

But if you genuinely want to read books online, you can buy a Kindle - they are safer for reading for long periods. This way, you make sure that you learn everything without damaging your eyes.

The only downside of these tablets is that they only come in black and white, which means that you will not have any colors to brighten up your reading experience.

Laptop

A good laptop is vital for surviving college. You will have to do a lot of assignments, exams, and lectures on it. This means that you should get a high-quality computer before starting your year.

Nowadays, laptops can be costly according to their specifications. Some of the most basic aspects to look for are:

These characteristics are the ones to look for, and you can find them in budget laptops. Lenovo and Asus are one of the best high-quality brands that offer great laptops at a low price.

Getting an advanced computer is going to ensure that you don't have to replace it while you're in college. We've all experienced that our laptop breaks in the least expected moment, and this is the most stressful thing for a student!

Photos from Home

Remembering your family every day will give you the strength to study harder. Always remember where you came from and where you're going from there.

Besides thinking about your loved ones, this will keep you grounded. You know what they say - the bigger you are, the harder you fall.

There's nothing wrong with feeling confident, but it becomes a problem when you feel superior to your fellow classmates. This can attract envious people that may want to harm you just to see you crash.

Counseling

This may seem silly, but you should have a therapist. Mental health should be your priority while in college.

There are many cases where people study too hard, and they start to experience mental health issues. To avoid this from happening, you should talk to someone regularly about how you're feeling.

The best advice that a college student can get is to take days off. There's nothing more stressful than finals week, and this can cause damage to your mental health. Taking a few days to reset is essential for everyone.

Final Thoughts

College is nerve-wracking and stressful if you don't organize your time and priorities.

Getting a car, having someone to talk to, and getting the right materials are some of the things you should think about before starting your first year.
