Emmy and Tony Award nominee Kate Burton will teach at the USC School of Dramatic Arts starting this fall. Burton is currently starring in the Broadway "Present Laughter," which is a backstage comedy by Noël Coward. Being one of the most versatile actresses in the industry, she can offer her undeniable professional experience to the students.

USC School of Dramatic Arts dean David Bridel said the students will benefit greatly from the breadth and depth of Kate Burton's brilliant career as a theatrical instructor, a director, and an actress, USC News reported. Her extensive connections will expand the opportunities for the growth of the students in the entertainment industry, said the dean. Burton will teach and direct students from the graduate levels down to the undergraduate levels.

Kate Burton said she is greatly honored to join USC's faculty and work with Bridel, who is bringing the School of Dramatic Arts to new horizons. She said she had the chance to work with faculty and students of USC for the past years. Now, she feels blessed to finally be asked to join the community in a more meaningful way.

Kate Burton recently played the wife of Garry Essendine, played by Kevin Kline, in the Broadway "Present Laughter," New York Times reported. Burton has three Tony Awards nominations for her work on "Hedda Gabler," "The Elephant Man," and "The Constant Wife." Meanwhile, some of the notable titles she has worked with in Los Angeles include "The Price," "The House of Blue Leaves," "Acadia," "Wild Honey," and "Jake's Women."

She is also known for playing Ellis Grey in "Grey's Anatomy" and Sally Langston in the TV show "Scandal." On film, some of the biggest titles she has worked with are "Big Trouble in Little China," "Remember Me," "Unfaithful," "Liberal Arts," "2 Days in New York," and "127 Hours."
