It has been six decades already since Glamour has been honoring and recognizing amazing young women who excel not only in academics, but those who have leadership experience and inspiring goals. They do this by holding annual competition where college women can join in.

Glamour sends out and publishes the steps for the College Women of the Year Competiton. The contest has evolved several times, but they have remained true to just one, single mission, and that is to give spotlight, honor and award college women who were able to standout in their respective schools across the country.

Here are some of the Glamour's winners for this year.

Marjorie Kirk, University of Kentucky

Kirk is an editor in chief of their school publication and is currently working on stories about refugees and drug use in Kentucky. She is someone who has given value to justice when their school paper investigated allegations about a professor who sexually assaulted two female students in her university.

Ellen Chilemba, Mount Holyoke College

Chilemba is from South Africa, and she is the one who launched Tiwale at age 18, which means "let us shine". This program has conducted trainings for women and helped them become entrepreneurs. She conducted the program for two summers and went to the US for college.

Sarah Clements, Georgetown University

After the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where Clements' mom was working, she started the Jr. Newtown Action Alliance to work on the gun reform. They also started the #Fight4AFuture Network, which is an activist group, which now has thousands of advocates.

Kia Nurse, University of Connecticut

Nurse made her dreams come true of becoming a basketball player because she has always admired Maya Moore. She won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games and competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
