The Grammys is the concert of the year, attracting a wide range of performers no festival could manage, but some performances can blow the audience away while others fall flat.

CBS' telecast of Sunday's music awards from Los Angeles was all about the performances, cramming in more than a dozen into the show. The telecast also did not air some of the minor award presentations, saving them for the commercial break and making more time for performances.

Beyoncé opened the show with a performance of "Drunk In Love" with husband Jay Z joining for his verse on the song. After the steamy performance, it seemed like the rest of the performers would have a tough time following music's power couple.

John Legend serenaded his wife Chrissy Teigen in front of the audience in the seats and at home with an acoustic rendition of "All of Me." Cameras may not have caught her reaction, but Legend could be seen peaking her way from time to time, perhaps trying to save himself from losing it in the middle of the song.

Pink and Nate Reuss sang their duet "Just Give Me a Reason." Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed "Same Love" with Mary Lambert and Madonna while 34 couples, gay and straight, were married on stage by Queen Latifah. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited for a performance and the Daft Punk robots had a huge night, taking home all five awards they were nominated for.

Another theme was collaborations, like Robin Thicke performing with Chicago and Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard performing with Blake Shelton.

5. Pink/Nate Reuss - "Try"/"Just Give Me a Reason"

The acrobatics are enough to earn her a spot in the top 5, but if you didn't look at the screen, you'd never know she is spinning and flipping in mid-air.

4. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis with Mary Lambert and Madonna - "Same Love"

34 people were married all at once. Daft Punk's Album of the Year acceptance speech even gave this performance props.

3. Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder - "Get Lucky"

Pharrell was on stage all night long and he and the robots both won big, including this spotless performance.

2. Beyoncé and Jay Z - "Drunk in Love"

Bey and Jay are award show veterans at this point, but the only disappointing thing about this performance was that it wasn't longer.

1. Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons - the most insane mashup of "M.A.A.D City" and "Radioactive" you could hope for

After being sprayed with paint on their white clothes, the band went back to their seats without changing, utterly confident they just rocked the Grammys to its core.
