Latest images from Kepler Space Telescope showed three planets near the TRAPPIST-1 star that can possibly support life. These planets are very close to Earth. They belonged to a newly discovered solar system just a few light years away.

The search for habitable planets in space had been done by NASA for so many years. This was one reason for the space explorations conducted. Man has been asking if he is really alone in this universe, according to University Herald.

The three planets are the TRAPPIST-1E, the TRAPPIST-1F and the other one is the Proxima b. TRAPPIST-1E is almost as big as Earth and it was speculated that it would have similar temperature. TRAPPIST-1F is covered with water.

The presence of water in TRAPPIST-1F is one indicator that the planet could support life. Proxima b has an atmosphere that is highly similar to that of Earth and so many are hoping that it could last according to The Daily Caller.

Like Earth, the three planets are located in a "Goldilocks Zone" in its solar system. The "Goldilocks Zone" refers to that location in a solar system where it is not too hot or too cold. For example, the planet Earth is said to be in the "Goldilocks Zone" because of its temperature and the presence of water. These elements are important for life to flourish, according to BBC.

But NASA proved true to its word. The announcement was done during a press conference on March 15. Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of NASA, discovering several exoplanets with ecosystems that scientists can explore will have a remarkable impact on mankind.

NASA did this in order that many researchers will conduct similar research studies. Through the eagerness of the public to learn, more exoplanets could be found. Many investigators would contribute to the efforts of discovering more habitable exoplanets.
