Michael Jordan has always created a stir in whatever he does. The most recent was creating a ruckus in social media regarding the inspirational talk he gave to the basketball team of his alma mater, the University of North Carolina. Among the things he said, what caught the attention of everyone was his 'the ceiling is the roof' remark. Many were left confused as to what he really meant by that.

After that remark, it became viral in Twitter with each tweet bearing their own interpretation of what MJ really meant. His Airness was roasted right and left and even inspired several Jordan memes to surface. UNC fans, however, took it as a reminder and an encouragement to remember the "ceiling is the roof and you beat Duke".

Twitter user Cooper J argued that whatever MJ said, no one will really argue with it since it's Jordan who has spoken. But it was Joe Cooper who cried that the 'emperor had no clothes' when he tweeted that Jordan had really no idea as everyone else what he was talking about.

CBS Sports columnist Gary Parrish, on the other hand, suggested that Jordan could've said something that makes more sense, such as "the ceiling can't hold us" or that there is "no ceiling on what we can accomplish". However, he did not spare him on Twitter when he suggested putting a crying Jordan on a roof, which Alex Warneke gamely obliged by putting a Photoshopped image of a crying Jordan on a stadium's roof.

Twitter user 'Ceiling is the Bert' seemed to figure it out explaining that His Airness might have been thinking he was speaking at Kennan Stadium, UNC's football team's home, and not inside the Dean Smith Center where he was at that moment.

Well, so much for Jordan. Here's to 'the ceiling is the roof'.
