Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) will work with the witch Rowena (Ruth Connell) in next week's episode of "Supernatural." The Winchester brothers' quest to rid the world of Lucifer's spawn also continues.

In episode 13 titled "Family Feud," Dean and Sam ask Rowena to look for her grandson -- Crowley's (Mark A. Sheppard) child, Gavin McLeod (Theo Devaney), SpoilerTV reported. The Winchesters are investigating a murder at a museum when they discover that a ghost may be the key to solving the case. The ghost is from a merchant ship named "The Star" that sunk in 1723.

It turns out that "The Star" was supposed to carry Gavin, and it appears that he never did go onboard the ship. This is why they need Rowena's help to know his whereabouts.

Another child is being hunted by Dean and Sam before it unleashes evil on Earth. That's Lucifer's unborn spawn, who Kelly Kline (Courtney Ford) is taking great pains to hide. She decides to seek the help of a demon to protect the baby after an angel tried to kill her.

It should be mentioned too that a Princess of Hell is interested in Lucifer's spawn. So the Winchesters may have to fight her if they want to have the baby.

"Supernatural" was recently renewed for a whopping Season 13, and it appears that the long-running series is more than capable of going beyond that. Showrunner Andrew Dabb told Cinema Blend that a huge chunk of the show's success is attributed to the main characters, particularly Dean and Sam.

Dabb acknowledged that viewers come back for more because they are interested in Dean, Sam, Crowley and Castiel (Misha Collins). That's why the creators make sure that these characters are constantly "vibrant and developing."

Dabb also believes that "Supernatural" can go on for more seasons if the show continues to go beyond what other serialized programs did on TV. Dabb, however, laid out three factors that may end the series: Ackles and Padalecki leaving; if they feel like they're repeating themselves; and if they can't handle the "bigger swings" they endured before.

Dabb is hopeful that the show, which debuted in 2005, can reach their 300th episode, which will happen sometime in Season 14. He said that the series "could go" beyond Episode 300 "creatively," but he stressed that "just because something could doesn't mean it should."

The British Men of Letters continue to be in the equation, too. At this point, Dean and Sam don't trust the group but Mary (Samantha Smith) is actually working with them.
