Google has finally released to the stable channel the latest build of its cloud-based OS, the Chrome OS 56. The latest build brings new changes, several bug fixes and killer features on the table.

Google Releases Latest Build

According to Android Central, the latest build Chrome OS 56.0.2924.87 will bring material design, and feature enhancements on board. The improved material shelf switches from a bar to a circle when a window is opened. Numerous animations have been introduced when tapping the app drawer. The update also brings significant changes to the system menu, which is now made shorter and more compact.

Braille display keyboards also received new functionality, which now allows the users to navigate the interface directly from the assistive tool. Then, there are the newly introduced auditory features that provide contextual information while page loads.

Additionally, Google is also making ChromeVox Classic accessible for those who still prefer the older version.

Other important changes made include the addition of the "Not Secure" label that denotes unsafe HTTP sites and the full rollout of HTML5 by Default. Google has also added a flash component updater on board.

In addition to the full HTML 5 roll out, it also introduces the Web Bluetooth API, which is said to allow web apps to communicate with Bluetooth-enabled devices. Google has also introduced some changes in the Android apps front, where ASUS Chromebook Flip 2 now supports the Google Play Store.

Latest Build Brings Bug Fixes And Performance Improvements

According to NDTV, the latest update also brings several bug fixes and performance improvements to the OS.Google Chrome OS 56 will be rolling out all mobile devices. Unfortunately, the cloud-based OS won't be coming on ASUS Chromebook Flip, Chromebook Pixel (2015), and Acer Chromebook R11. The company made no further comment about this availability.
