The Asus ZenFone 4 appears to have been benchmarked by GFXBench recently. The device's alleged specs and features have been revealed in that benchmark along with an expected release date.

According to the benchmark, the alleged smartphone will be equipped with Android 7.0 Nougat and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530, Android Headlines reported. The device is considered a phablet with its 5.7-inch screen size with 2560 x 1440 resolution. Its screen also has at least 5-finger gesture support.

The handset will come bearing a whopping 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Asus' upcoming flagship is said to have a 21-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies.

There's a huge possibility that the Asus ZenFone 4 will be released in three variants, mirroring the Asus ZenFone 3 rolled out in May 2016. If the handset will indeed follow the ZenFone 3's footsteps, fans should expect a standard Zenfone 4, a Zenfone 4 Max and a Zenfone 4 Deluxe. These models are expected to be equipped with varying memory storages and chipsets.

The Asus ZenFone 4 is expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in late February at Barcelona. The Taiwanese company's handset supply chain claimed that the device will have a May 2017 release date, according to Digitimes. The smartphone is also expected to have a higher price tag than its predecessor due to its improved specs and features.

However, it's also possible that the specs revealed by GFXBench are the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe with Android 7.0 Nougat, according to Phone Arena. The device has a metal build, 6 GB of RAM, a 3000mAh battery and either of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 or 821 processor. A rose pink color variant was released for the ZenFone 3 recently. Around 17.5 million ZenFone smartphones were shipped by Asus last year, a number lower than 2015's 20.5 million. However, the company is confident that the upcoming launch of the ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone AR will rake in good revenues.

The ZenFone 3 Zoom is touted by the company as the thinnest and lightest handsets in the market, while the ZenFone AR falls more in the high-end spectrum with its Snapdragon 821 processor.
