Huawei's Honor 6X smartphone is finally receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat beta update. One country, however, will get it first before the United States.

The news was revealed by the company's Pakistan chapter on Twitter. Huawei's Nova Plus device will also get the software update.

At the moment, there's no news which countries will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat beta for Huawei Honor 6X after Pakistan. Users in other markets, however, should expect the update in the following weeks.

Last week, Huawei released a statement saying that the Honor 6X's EMUI 5 update will be released in March and the improvements made on it were "based on consumer feedback," Ubergizmo reported.

Huawei's 5.5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) smartphone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 655 chipset and a 3340 mAh battery. The device comes with either 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory storage, or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The handset's primary camera is at 12 MP, while its front-facing snapper for selfies is at 8 MP.

The handset is targeted towards U.S. consumers looking to buy mid-range, affordable phones. It's not that stellar but it satisfies with its dual-lens camera, fingerprint sensor and slim metal build with smooth edges.

The smartphone's processor also works fast, and the handset rarely heats up when in use. Its battery also ensures that it can last a full day or more on a single charge, The Indian Express noted. The device charges fast using the 5V/2A fast charging technology.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is probably Honor 6X's closest competitor in the mid-range market. Both smartphones have affordable prices and decent specs and features. The two devices also come with a fingerprint sensor on the back, with their build a combination of metal and plastic, according to NDTV.

Both handsets are also equipped with a hybrid dual-SIM card slot for when users want bigger memory storage for their photos, videos and other files. Xiaomi's smartphone has a better battery, though, with its 4100 mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 4's primary camera is 13 megapixels and its front-facing shooter at 5 megapixels. The device's 1080p video shooting support is at par with Huawei's handset.

The Huawei Honor 6X starts selling at $249.99. For more information, visit Huawei's official website.
