"Avengers: Infinity War" will bring Earth's mightiest heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy together against a mighty galactic foe. Fans already know the superheroes that will grace the highly-anticipated film, but some names are still being announced.

Mantis (first seen in "Guardians of the Galaxy") is among those characters that will appear in the third "Avengers" movie. Pom Klementieff, the actress who portrays the role, seemed to have confirmed her involvement in the sequel via a post on Instagram. A separate post from Klementieff showed a comic book cover of Mantis alongside the Avengers.

In the comics, Mantis is a half-German, half-Vietnamese character whose areas of expertise are telepathy and martial arts, according to ComicsAlliance. She doesn't play a major part in the Marvel universe, but she's not entirely a minor character either because of her position as a former Avenger.

There are strong suspicions that "Avengers: Infinity War" will take the audience back to Thor's homeland, Asgard. The speculations fired up due to a recent casting call posted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution looking for background men and women extras of any ethnicity.

Participants should be aged between 18 and 50s, and men with "long hair and beards" are favored. The extras should be "comfortable with fake blood and with wearing special effects makeup."

"Thor" fans know that Asgard is home to long-haired and bearded men and the casting call suggests that the extras will pose as Asgardian warriors. Those interested in the notice should send their submissions with "VIKING" as the email's subject line. It's common knowledge that the story of "Thor" is loosely based on the Vikings and Norse mythology.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" director James Gunn confirmed in a new Facebook Live session that he is heavily involved in the third "Avengers" outing as an executive producer. Gunn said that he's been "working hard" with Marvel boss Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers to ensure that the Guardians are "well taken care of and are as funny as they should be, and is as honest and truthful as they should be," ComicBook.com reported.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are already excited to see their favorite heroes interact for the first time. It's definitely interesting how Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Groot (Vin Diesel) will respond to each other.

Director Anthony Russo said that the movie will change the MCU in a huge way, SlashFilm reported. "Avengers: Infinity War" is bowing in theaters on May 4, 2018, with the big band of superheroes fighting Josh Brolin's Thanos. Peter Dinklage is also in talks for a strange role in the film.
