Rockstar Games this week confirmed the release of its upcoming open-world western adventure "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the fall of 2017. However, details of the upcoming sequel are yet to be announced by the developer, which also include the possible cross promotion works with "Red Dead Redemption 2."

Release Date And Possible Cross Promotion with GTA 6
According to GamingBolt, the release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" has been originally set for autumn of 2017, and Rockstar Games has already started sending promotional materials to the game retailers. Many gamers are said to be wondering what is in store for them.

PC Advisor reported that there are already numerous rumors surrounding its gameplay, and upcoming features. And one of the most highly anticipated features of western action adventure is the online multiplayer option and rumored cross-promotion with "GTA 5" (Grand Theft Auto 5).

According to PC Advisors, a certain Reddit user, who has successfully predicted online updates for "GTA" in the past, recently revealed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have an online mode, which might be released later this year.

The Reddit user also revealed upcoming three playable characters for "Red Dead Redemption 2." PC Advisors notes that "GTA Online" have managed to keep a strong user base in the franchise for years while waiting for the release of the sequel "GTA 6." There's also some rumors about possible cross promotion between the upcoming "GTA 6" and "Red Dead Redemption 2."

"Red Dead Redemption 2" may also benefit from the GTA's userbase and from the anticipation of fans for the "GTA 6" release date.

Cross-promotion things are no longer new in the gaming world, developers have been doing these stuff for years. Gaming giants such as Electronic Arts are no stranger to this kind of gaming development.

Electronic Arts have already done cross promotion in the past with "Dragon Age: Origins" and BioWare's shooter "Mass Effect 2." The move has reportedly led to an increase in sales revenue on both games.

However, there still some confusion and unanswered questions that Rockstar need to address first. The first one is that Rockstar Games has still not confirmed that the GTA sequel has entered the development stage, as they were busy working in the "Red Dead Redemption 2."

Second, there's a little bit confusion about the cross promotion part. "Red Dead Redemption 2" is getting too much attention these days, suggesting that it may not need some promotion or help with "GTA 6."
