Moto G5 and G5 Plus design looks identical to Moto X. Details here!

Moto G5, G5 Plus Build and Design Revealed on Leak Images

A recently leaked image of the alleged Moto G5 shows the handset's black color variant. It does not seem to flaunt a special design.

The smartphone will reportedly run Android Nougat out of the box and it will have a 5.5-inch display with 13 MP rear shooter and 5 MP selfie shooter, The Verge has learned. If the handset turns out to be a Moto G5, it is safe to assume that it will be using Snapdragon 625 under the hood. As a reminder, Moto G4 packs 617 chipset series with 2 GB of RAM.

The successor should have at least 4 GB RAM paired with 32 GB internal storage. Moto G5 battery is said to receive a boost with 3,080 mAh capacity - an 80-mAh bigger than Moto G4's.

The sneak peek does not show many details about the handset but tech experts have begun to compare it to the previously-leaked Moto X 2017. Moto X rumors have surfaced since last year and the renders seem to be identical. However, judging from the innards, the average specs are unlikely to be the high-end device carrying Moto X label.

And it is interesting to find out whether Moto G5 will compete head-to-head with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 as both have similar hardware specs, from Snapdragon Soc to RAM on board.

Moto G4 series does not get any fingerprint sensor but according to Pocket-Lint, the G5 series will likely have the feature mounted at the front panel. From the leaks, Moto G5 seems to receive a few upgrades and they could be the selling points that the G4 is lacking of.

There is no word on the handset's availability but a report from NDTV suggests a March release date after a store listed the G5 device but removed it not long after. Everything remains to be confirmed but launching the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at MWC 2017 is plausible.
