"Half-Life" Developer Valve had multiple prototypes for "Half-Life 3" and one of them was for it to be a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game. This would mean it would move away from the first person shooter concept the previous two games had.

"Half-Life 3," according to Game Rant, is one of the most built up video games since it is the follow up to one of the most famous video games of all time. Both "Half-Life" and "Half-Life 2" received expansion packs a year or less after the last release. They are just separated for 3 years which makes it even more difficult for fans of the game to wait for the third instalment of the game.

According to Game Planet, "Half-Life 3" had so many prototypes because development for the game has been a big mess. The prototypes for the game were being worked on by small teams consisting of four or five people. Valve also tried to get live actors involved in the game in order to make gamers have a good feel of the game. However, that did not happen either so it will never be known which actors they wanted to lend their voices in the game.

The latest rumor going around is that "Half-Life 3" will be a Virtual Reality game instead of being in PC format according to Digital Spy. It also set to launch next year if production goes along smoothly. The previous two Half Life games were exclusive to PC with Orange Box bringing them to Xbox. It would be surprise if this becomes a reality because Valve has yet to make a VR game aside from a bunch of mini experiences known as The Lab.
