ASUS has finally announced the arrival of the ASUS Zenfone AR. ASUS's new smartphone is packed with powerful specs and features that would compliment the latest technology including the AR and VR, Check the details here.

With Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) rising in popularity, these platforms need smartphones to support them. For the smartphone to be compatible with the AR and VR, the RAM must be fast enough. It must have a RAM that is big in size together with an impressive processor. ASUS developed a smartphone that will carry quite amount of RAM, and that's the Zenfone AR.

The ASUS Zenfone AR will run the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and not the flagship chip of this year. However, it boasts an 8MB of RAM that supports both AR and VR technologies, which is first of its kind. ASUS included a Tricam system clustering three camera sensors as the AR would require camera and smart sensors.

The ASUS Zenfone AR has four cameras in which the main rear camera boasts a 23-megapixel, while the front camera has 8-megapixel resolution. The device sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display that could fit well in a VR headset and will have a pretty huge internal storage ranging from 32GB up to 256GB that can be expanded using a MicroSD card, Engadget reported.

Also, the ASUS Zenfone AR will run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and will support dual SIM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The smartphone also uses fast charging technology for its 33mAh battery to support the Qualcomm Quick Charging 3.0.

The following additional features are expected to be provided by the Zenfone AR as per ANANDTECH:

•  Depth perception
•  Environment mapping capabilities
•  Measure physical objects
•  Play new interactive games

ASUS did not provide any detail as to when it will be released but some reports suggests a Spring 2017 launch of the ASUS Zenfone AR.
