There is no doubt that 2016 was a merry year when it comes to video game releases and gamers are on natural high with the start of the new year. Avid players are looking forward for a more exciting 2017 and for this month alone, there are more video game releases than expected.

Check out the first five video games to be released in January.

"Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone" (PS4)

An arcade game in Japan that is known for its unparalleled content, "Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone" has stunning visuals and challenging gameplay. It's coming out to PS4 on Jan. 10.

"Night in The Woods" (PS4, PC Mac, Linux)

"Night in The Woods" is another action-adventure game where players get to play as Mae who returned home to Possum Springs only to discover she possesses paranormal abilities. The game was initially set for release on Jan. 10, but the release will be delayed, according to iDigitalTimes.

"Road Redemption" (PS4, Xbox One)

"Road Redemption" is an upcoming racing video game developed by Pixel Dash Studios and EQ games which is slated to release on Jan. 15.

"Read Only Memories" 

"Read Only Memories" is a game that is set in the future time, the year 20164 in Neo-Francisco coming to PS4 on Jan.17. The game is about the journalist who is looking for a missing friend Hayden Webber, who is an AI researcher.

 Gravity Rush 2 (PS4)

An action-adventure game that is set to release on Jan. 20. Its plot picks up from where its sequel "Gravity Rush" left off. Expect the main characters to appear. Its missions are three times more than its predecessor so it will be a bit longer and the map is 2.5 times larger which means there is more to discover.
