The developers of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" have been silent on the actual figure of sales of the said game which is why, some speculate that the game didn't really did well. However, GFK broke their silence after Christmas as they were able to prove how strong "Call Duty" franchise is.

According to GFK Chart Track, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" was able to make it to the number one spot in the UK during Christmas. With the recent result, GFK is positive that the latest "Call of Duty" franchise will be able to hit number one again before the year ends just like the "Black Ops 3 and "Advanced Warfare."

Despite being unable to outperform "Black Ops 3," the sales in Christmas is a foolproof that "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" remains popular among gamers considering that there are many games to choose from.

"Call of Duty" franchises were undoubtedly popular in previous years and even enjoyed record-breaking sales. It is quite early to tell though that "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" didn't perform well like the other franchises. Remember, there is still lack in the sales measurement system, it may take some time for the developers to find out how their game really performed as they have to gather all sources first. Unlike movies where the box office report is based on the sales generated during the first show of the film.

There are some instances also where publishers would proudly announce to the public how successful their game release was after earning millions of dollars on the first week and so is why some analysts suggest something went wrong, The Verge reported. However, a report suggests that the silence of the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" publishers were only waiting for the retail data, such data that could fully confirm instances like when Activision revealed the "Infinite Warfare" outperformed other games.
