Bethesda recently rolled out a new update for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition." Improvements were introduced on PC, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will get the patch much later.

According to Bethesda's website, the "Skyrim Special Edition" 1.3 update will improve the game's stability and performance, as well as slow time effects that "weren't behaving properly." Aside from that, the latest patch will apply better support for 144hz displays, while issues in logging into Bethesda.net were eliminated, as well.

Xbox One and PS4 players can now install mods for a revamped gaming experience. Here's what you should know about mods and which are the best ones to install.

For those unacquainted, mods are fan-made modifications that alters a video game's smallest aspects (menu layouts) or its larger parts (graphics and quests), according to Mic. Console versions of "Skyrim Special Edition" allow easy mod installation. Players can just go to the main menu to accomplish this. Players need to create a Bethesda.net account before they can install mods.

After signing up, "Skyrim Special Edition" players can choose among the mods and sort them via popularity, ratings, and categories. Players can download the mods they like, though there are times when the mods are incompatible. It's best to peruse through the description first so the game won't break.

Mods can be enabled or disabled on the game's Load Order area. Players can pick which mods they want to load first.

Take note that the game's PS4 version has lesser mods than the Xbox One. This is because PS4 doesn't support mods that introduce new assets such as enemies or character models. Mic advised "Skyrim Special Edition" players to install the "Less Aggressive Animals" and the "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" mod, which fixes bugs and anomalies such as disappearing quest givers and horses popping up on rooftops.

Xbox One's "Campfire: Complete Camping System" mod is perfect for players who enjoy camping because it rewards resourcefulness (e.g. hunting for food). Other notable mods are "Point the Way" and "Ring of Increased Carry."

The former reveals the game's hidden passageways and trails, while the latter allows "Skyrim Special Edition" players to wear a ring that gives 1,000 more points of inventory weight. Thanks to the "Ring of Increased Carry," characters can carry items from their inventory without getting punished by the game.
