Artificial Intelligence is gaining so much interest this year and it would be just right to discuss the top stories on AI that made it to the headlines. Some of these stories include XPRIZE's AI 2020 competition, Google's WaveNet, and even Mark Zuckerberg's attempt to create his own "Jaris."

Zuckerberg is Building His Own "Jarvis"

Mark Zuckerberg has spend time and effort the whole year developing his personal AI butler as his New Year's resolution, Time reported. This means, he is creating an AI that somehow is like Tony Stark's "Jarvis." His major takeaway from the project is that no matter how much advancement the AI industry has reached, it still requires an ample amount of guidance from humans.

Top AI Stories

Another top AI story is the AI 2020 competition that XPRIZE launched with IBM Watson, Tech Crunch reported. XPRIZE is the non-profit organizsation that contributed to the success of SpaceShipOne in 2004. Over a thousand people have joined the competition, which has a $3 million fund from IBM. This event only brings XPRIZE and IBM at the forefront of the AI industry.

Another amazing AI story is Google's WaveNet, which is an audio generating robot. It can recreate an impressive amount of language and even music using neural nets. Google has also open sourced its TenserFlow, which can accurately caption images.

Another big story is how Microsoft, IBM, Google, Amazon, and Facebook has teamed up for a major AI project that aims to solve the biases in machine learning to open up more opportunities for people who want to join the industry.

This discriminating nature of AI was tackled by Google with its "Equality of Opportunity" approach, which is useful in removing the possible biases in machine learning. But machine learning will get huge leaps of improvements with Facebook's strategies on this element. Facebook plans to use autonomouse drones and satellites to further develop the concept of machine learning.
